Registered office vs service address — the difference
These two are easy to confuse. The registered office is the company's official address. The service address is each director's own correspondence address. Companies House publishes both.
You can use our address for one or both. Many founders take the registered office to make the company compliant, and add a service address to protect their personal record as an individual director.

Why a home address on the register is a real risk
Once a residential address is on the Companies House register it is effectively public forever — it can be searched, scraped, cached and resold. Removing it later is far harder than never publishing it.

Service address questions
How is this different from a registered office?
The registered office is the company's address; the service address is the individual director's correspondence address. Both appear on the public register, and you can use our address for either or both.
Does one service address cover all my directors?
Yes. The service address is set up per company, so one subscription covers every director who uses our address as their correspondence address on the register. Choose it for each director when you form the company, or from your dashboard afterwards.
Will mail still reach me?
Yes. Mail forwarding is included, so any correspondence addressed to you as a director at the service address is forwarded on to you.
I already gave Companies House my home address — can I still change it?
Yes. You can add a service address later and we will update your correspondence address at Companies House. Doing it sooner is better, as the earlier record may already have been copied elsewhere.
Can non-UK residents use this?
Yes. Overseas directors often use a UK service address so they do not have to publish a residential address abroad on the UK register.
